A recent milestone was the first ophthalmological brigade in July 2024, carried out in conjunction with the Rementería Foundation from Spain, which enabled 163 cataract surgeries to be performed in a single week. During that week, MMI Amazon, in partnership with the Rementería Foundation, successfully served several communities and municipalities, including Caballo Cocha, Peru; Puerto Nariño, Colombia; and Leticia. The MAU PATA docked at the port of each location, where patients registered for consultations to determine their need for surgery. Thanks to God, and to this vital alliance between MMI Amazon and the Rementería Foundation, the lives of 163 people were changed. Remarkably, many individuals recovered their sight after years of living with vision impairment. As of that year, we have completed a total of seven ophthalmological surgery projects.
