MMI Amazon mobilizes short-term mission teams to bring hope, real love and real life to the Amazon Triple Frontier. We embrace Jesus’ holistic approach. addressing physical. relational, and spiritual needs simultaneously. Our initiatives include providing medical, dental, and vision care. To address relational needs, we engage in men’s, women’s. children’s. and sports ministries. By meeting both physical and relational needs, we create a strong foundation for sharing the gospel.
Our Christian humanitarian organization is based in Luke 9:2.
We fulfill the mission of God preaching his kingdom and healing the sick. We deliver holistic care to indigenous Amazonian communities that lack access to health services. We operate through extramural (outreach) medical brigades, providing both vital health services and essential spiritual care through dedicated evangelism, demonstrating God’s love in action.

MMI Amazon operates a hospital boat named Mau Pata, which means House of Life in Tikuna, in our mission to connect the indigenous and amazon river communities to real love, real life and heal the sick we have the capacity to provide the following health care programs; medical, womens health, dental, nutricion, farmacy, vision, with our surgical programs we provide free surgeries in the specialty of Ophthalmology and ENT. While a team provides health care, others are sharing Real Love Real Life.
Our Mission: Medical Care and Evangelism
Our work is built upon a dual mandate, inspired by Luke 9:2, which calls us to heal and to preach. We carry out this vision through two essential components that ensure the holistic well-being of indigenous communities: High-Quality Medical Care and the Sharing of Hope through Evangelism.
Throughout the year, we conduct intensive medical brigades lasting one or two weeks. Our most significant operation is the extensive 45-day brigade that takes place in April and May. We set sail from Leticia, Amazonas, heading into remote regions within the Amazonian Triple Frontier to serve and provide high-quality care.
The Floating Hospital: MAU PATA
The MAU PATA is the centerpiece of our mission. Purpose-built as a hospital boat, the first deck houses the entire medical area.
- First Deck Facilities: Equipped with fully-equipped examination rooms, necessary equipment, and the medical area, enabling us to deliver high-quality services.
- Service Capacity: Upon arrival at a community, indigenous residents register for the services they need and are attended to with professionalism and love.

Integrated Health
Real Love is shared in different ways:
- Integrated Heath Station: A team member is responsible for sharing the message of love and hope to the patients as they wait for their medical services.
- In the Village: A team visits families, schools and other local communities engagimng in:
- Bible Distribution
- Counseling
- Living Water Program.
Afternoon Community Activities
After the medical workday ends, the afternoons are dedicated to our major community evangelism activities. These events are aimed at spending time together and showing and preaching the love of God:
- Joseph’s Cup (Soccer Tournament): A community tournament for children where biblical principles based on the life of Joseph are taught. We provide full uniforms, balls, medals, and trophies.
- Family Festival: An afternoon of games where families compete to understand the importance of basing their relationships on God’s Word.
- Afternoon Cinema and Discipleship: Film events on the third floor of the MAU PATA and dedicated discipleship sessions for community members.

The journey of MMI Amazon is a testament to faith, need, and constant growth in the Amazonian Triple Frontier. Every step, from a small brigade to a floating hospital, demonstrates an unwavering commitment to bringing hope.
The Vision is Born
The first vision health brigade is deployed in Leticia, revealing the immense need across the Triple Frontier.
MMI Amazon is Founded
Juan Alan Muñoz establishes the NGO with the mission to generate a deep and lasting impact in the region. Interventions increase to an average of six brigades annually.
Crisis Response
During the COVID-19 pandemic, MMI Amazon remains active, partnering with the World Food Programme (WFP) to distribute vital humanitarian aid to affected indigenous families.
The Dream Realized
Construction begins on the hospital boat, the MAU PATA (“house of life”), consolidating our capacity to deliver the highest quality care in the Amazon.
The Vision is Born
All projects are centralized on the $MAU PATA$, offering comprehensive services (medicine, dentistry, nutrition, etc.). We are an accredited NGO and have reached milestones such as performing 163 cataract surgeries in one week (in partnership with the Rementería Foundation).
We continue to work diligently, reaching hard-to-access locations, because: "With God, nothing is impossible."
