Every February, we face a unique challenge in the heart of the Amazon. We partner with Lifehouse Church from San Antonio, Texas, and wonderful volunteers from Canada to reach the Atacuari and Loretoyacu rivers. This mission is a true race against time: we can only enter these waters in February, when the river is high enough for our boat, the MAU PATA, to pass through the narrow channels. If we miss this window, these remote communities lose their only chance for specialized medical care for the entire year.
The journey is an adventure like no other. To reach the very last community, San Pedro de Tipisca, the MAU PATA must navigate deep into the jungle for an entire day until we reach the border between the Colombian and Peruvian Amazon. These are places of incredible beauty but very few resources. For the families living here, quality healthcare is a distant dream—until our hospital boat arrives at their shore.
During these two weeks, the MAU PATA was overflowing with joy. We served 10 different communities and treated 1,880 patients, including 700 children who received expert care from our dedicated pediatric team. Whether it was a doctor treating a patient or a volunteer sharing a smile in the hallway, you could feel the love of God in every corner of the boat. It wasn’t just a clinic; it was a festival of healing and happiness for everyone involved.
But we didn’t stop at medical care. We went the “extra mile” by hosting our famous Joseph’s Cup soccer tournament and a beautiful Family Festival. It was a time for neighbors and friends to gather, play, and hear the Word of God. Through these activities, 150 people opened their hearts to the Gospel and decided to follow Christ. We also partnered with Lifehouse Church to donate 10 large water tanks to families in need, reminding them that while the tanks hold water for the body, Jesus is the “Living Water” that satisfies the soul forever.
Now, we have a question for you: Are you ready to be part of this unforgettable experience? Imagine yourself standing on the deck of the MAU PATA, watching children play soccer in the jungle, or handing a water tank to a family that has prayed for one for years. This is more than a mission trip; it is a chance to see God’s love in action at the ends of the earth. We invite you to join us on our next journey. Your hands, your skills, and your heart are exactly what these communities are waiting for.
