In March of 2024, we experienced a deeply emotional “full circle” moment. For the first time in years, our hospital boat, the MAU PATA, sailed into the waters of the Yavarí River. This river is where MMI Amazon first began. Back then, we had to rent small boats and borrow supplies just to help the people. Returning now with the MAU PATA is a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness. We are back where it all started, but this time, we are stronger and ready to do even more.

The most exciting part of this journey is our new partnership with the Health Secretaries of Benjamin Constant and Atalaia do Norte. For years, it was difficult to work in this part of the Brazilian Amazon due to complex permits and paperwork. But now, those doors are wide open! The Brazilian authorities didn’t just give us permission; they helped us plan our route and even sent their own talented medical staff to work side-by-side with our team. This alliance is a total game-changer for the indigenous communities of the Yavarí.

But we aren’t stopping at the communities we already know. We are currently dreaming of something even bigger: reaching uncontacted tribes. There are people deep in the jungle who have never had access to medicine and have never heard the message of Jesus. It is our mission to go where others cannot, preaching the Kingdom of God and healing the sick in the most remote corners of the world. What used to be a difficult dream is now becoming a reality.
